Party Wall Award

When the owner of a building wants to excavate near a neighboring structure, often to lay foundations for an extension, or to carry out building work to the Party Wall itself, they may have to serve a Party Wall Notice on the Adjoining Owner.

We are specialists in Party Wall matters, ideally placed to advise on the wide variety of issues that can arise as a result of building works. We can guide you through the processes in accordance with the Party Wall Act, whether you are planning to do work to your property, or have a neighbour who has proposed such work which may affect your property.

The owner of the adjoining property may consent to the proposed works based on the advice of the surveyor the owner instructed, or may prefer to appoint their own surveyor to represent them throughout the works. Whether we receive instruction from an owner, an affected neighbour, or even both parties, we ensure the building owner fulfills their statutory rights whilst protecting the interests and rights of the Adjoining Owner, our aim being a smooth and satisfactory outcome for all parties.
